I was told once by a wise trusted healer, Ginger will grab you by the hand and pull you through. Don’t use it, unless, even with knees shaking it’s GO TIME!

Ok! Well, let’s get into it….

Why Kenya, Madagascar, Tanzania, Honduras, and Vietnam?

Our Ginger essential oil is sourced from multiple locations where the plant thrives. It’s produced through our Co-Impact Sourcing® model, in which we work with hundreds of small farmers.

The Distillation Process

Ginger is planted in spring and harvested in fall or winter, when it’s mature. The essential oil is steam-distilled from the rhizome of the plant. It takes between one to two pounds of ginger rhizome to make a 15 mL bottle of essential oil. A rhizome—different from a root—is the subterranean stalk from which a plant’s root system grows.

Our Ginger essential oil is truly unique. Many companies distill their oil from fully dried rhizomes, while we distill our essential oil from fresh rhizomes shortly after harvest. This difference results in better chemical and aroma profiles.

Impact Stories

The doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation® has funded numerous projects in both Madagascar and Kenya.

In Madagascar, these projects include the establishment of a mobile health clinic. Health officers are chosen from villages and provided with first aid kits and essential oils, and then they’re trained in respective and appropriate uses. A doctor will be employed to work for the clinic and see patients in their homes.

How does Ginger serve us?

With a chemical make up of mostly (71-72%) Sesquiterpene Hydrocarbons it serves us in as a high antioxidant support, circulation aid, giving us a healthy inflammatory response, adn healthy cell function. Aiding our digestive system, nervous system, and feelings of calm. While also aiding in healthy skin and vitality and energy.

Energetically the chemistry says calming and relaxation. But the spice and scent wake me up! and I feel the energy and fire lit feelings. What a beauty that our human chemistry is all so unique so different scents and oils can effect different people diversely. When you smell it, decide for your self how it makes you feel energy wise. The presence of Aldehydes in its chemistry creates these benefits.

Finally Ginger also aids in our metabolism. Supporting healthy metabolic function. It is in our Metapower blend, used in the whole Metapwer Line. It can be used to help curb cravings. This all made possible by containing Esters / Oxides in its chemistry.

This oil lives in my purse. A life long journey with my digestive system, where I stop ALL of my emotions, calls for oils like Ginger, Digestzen, Fennel, and Wild Orange to name a few. I added it into my Tummy Tamer Roller ball blend. I adore it in cooking and baking too. Just a 1 drop goes a long way, so when using your oils in the kitchen remember how string they are.

It blends great! with cedarwood, Citrus oils, coriander, eucalyptus, frankincense, sandalwood, rosemary, vetiver, and most of our florals.
